If you're the kind of person who can see the positive side of being raised by tigers, the Grand Vitara may be the kind of vehicle you'd like to see parked in your garage. Or maybe caged would be a better word.
In 2WD or 4WD models, the Grand Vitara gives you all the spirit and instinct for the back woods you'd expect in a rugged SUV. In both models you'll find quick, precise handling, a powerful 165-hp V6 engine with enough torque to claw its way out of rough pavement or snowy roads, and a sturdy ladder-box frame. Of course, it has to like its masters and treat them right. So you'll find air conditioning, power windows, door locks and mirrors, keyless remote entry, micron air filtration and cruise control standard in all models. Leather-trimmed seats and a power tilt-and-slide sunroof are standard in Limited models. You'll find the added assurance of available 4-wheel ABS braking and heated door mirrors. An AM/FM stereo with in-dash CD is standard on all models, while Limited models have a standard AM/FM cassette stereo with in-dash CD.
Clearly, this isn't your average SUV content merely to prowl the suburbs. Although it can do that happily. But if your ambitions range beyond the mall, we'll release one for a test-drive. Leash not included.
